There was a death in the family this past weekend. It was sudden (though there have been signs for over a year now) and sad. One of our favorite restaurants, Palena, closed. I don't know how many roast chickens I have had at Palena over the years but we will miss it. For me, it was where Ben brought me for a dinner to meet a bunch of his friends for the first time. For Ben, the connection to Palena goes back even longer. Anyway, we know Frank Ruta will re-emerge someplace great in the city, and we are looking forward to being one of his regulars again soon hopefully.
